Pied-billed Grebe

This isn't an extraordinary shot of a grebe, but as I looked back through all the photos I had of these guys, I really didn't have one this clear and sharp, so I guess I am happy to have it. Since trading up to the 600mm, I must say I am so glad to have the extra reach even if it is a few pounds more. Any suggestions for this one are much appreciated. Cheers!

I agree with Richard, like it as is, a lot! Love the coppery color tones throughout, without getting carried away on the saturation. 600 definitely has some advantages for feathered subjects.

Seems to me that it's very difficult to get an image of this species that most would refer to as "extraordinary", since they're not very flashy. But that's part of the challenge and I think you've done a fine job with this one Bryan. I like the overall colors, sharpness looks good as does exposure. Nice pose and low angle too. Excellent.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the feedback. I am looking forward to seeing some migrating birds in the next few weeks. Bring on the warblers!
