Cedar Waxwing-Alert Pose

I was out the other morning very early and I counted 42 waxwings in one tree. They were everywhere picking off left over berries from the winter. This one I liked because he really had is feathers up on his head in an alert pose and you can see his yellow tips on the tail feathers. This was a fairly large crop and I digitally excised a few branches. Is this too tight?

Nice capture Bryan. The yellow tail jumps out and I don't find the comp tight at all.

The very erect crest, even light, slightly open beak and great look at the yellow tip of the tail all appeal to me Bryan. I'd prefer it slightly less tight but as has been said before, that's a personal thing.

Nice, Bryan. It is a bit tight for my taste, and there seems t o be a fair amount of noise in the bird that would be less evident with a looser crop. :toast:

I'm jealous. Great pose showing the back tail colors. I like the facial expression as well.

I can see the loss of detail from the crop so I would give him some more room. I like the pose and the nice look at the tail. :toast:
