Yellow-footed Gull

Canon 7D, 500mm f/4 + 1.4x TC, monopod, sitting.

1/2500, f/7.1, ISO 400, Early morning light. Metering at -1 2/3 stops.

Crop to 76% (13.7 of 18MP)

Another gull from Puerto Penasco. These Yellow-footed Gulls are among the finest of gulls that I've seen. Big birds with vibrant legs and bills. None of the whites are blown, and in processing I tried to get as much detail in the whites as I could without turning them gray.

Brian,
very nice head turn, light and background. I like the shells around the feet. Excellent detail too.

Terrific. I've only seen them at the Salton Sea. I'd be happy with this in my files.
