An eye to eye with Black shouldered Kite.

This is the final image from this series, shot from Elephant back. Although I'm not very happy about two-toned background.

Thankyou so much for your kind attention & views!
Canon 7D, 300mm, ISO 400, 1/1000 sec. at F 4.5

PS. I happened to join this wonderful forum, exactly two years ago, so today is my happy birthday n I'm two years old.

I would not worry so much about the BG. The subject is so strong that your eye is drawn directly to it. Very well done! Sharp where needs to be and the exposure is spot on. :toast:

Beautiful - and the BG doesn't bother me a bit.
Great pose, eye, and dof here.
Happy Birthday!

Great, great capture Jagdeep!! The two toned BG is fine. It's not like it's two completely different colors. The tonal range is there. What a magnificent shot! :toast:

The combination of the light on the bird with that head turn is magnificent Jagdeep. The two-toned background is a non-issue for me. I like your composition too.

This is awesome, nice of you to bring us a present on your birhtday. :jump:

I agree with the others, the BG is not a negative in any way.

Great action and sharpness. It must have been interesting balancing that tripod on a elephant's back.

Beautiful picture! I think the background is great. I'm curious which autofocus area selection mode you used, and what you feel tends to work best for birds on the wing shots.

looks great, Jagdeep. bg is a total non-issue for me. in fact, I can hardly pull my eye away from that red eye to look at anything else.

A wonderful in flight shot and that eye catches your attention right away. I did not even notice the background until you mentioned it, so no big deal to me. The larger version was a pleasure to view, well done.

Excellent shot, sharp particularly around the face, where it counts. I think the background is fine , but you can lighten the dark area at the bottom fairly easily if it bothers you..
