Burrowing Owl

I have a soft spot for this shot as I spent many hours for most of a month with this bird and its family and became quite attached to the whole clan. The youngsters in particular are full of personality and gave me a variety of goofy looks that charmed me immensely. I'm grateful that I have the images to remember them by.

This displays this species quirkiness perfectly. Loved it when you first posted it and I still feel that way.

First time I've seen this image, Ron, and what a treat it is.
From your description, I can understand the soft spot.
Very cool!

Absolutely worth the effort! Comical, yet poignant and depictive at the same time.

What a wonderful shot of this little guy. It certainly shows his personality. I really like the background as it does not take away from the owl. How neat that you were able to spend so much time with this owl and his family -- priceless.
