In Between

La Jolla, California

Title refers to my decision to head to the beach and shoot the sunset in between volleyball coaching obligations. I knew it wasn't going to be a knockout sunset, but it was something to do.

Canon 5Dmk2, Zeiss 21mm, 3 stop hard gnd. Used two exposures to control some highlights.

Great DOF and sharpness Jimmy, I also like your comp with the channel between the rock formations.

Gary.

Smooth, moody and beautiful. Love the soft water and purple tones. Very pretty shot, Jimmy.

Beautiful Jimmy. The image has a nice flow all the way through. I like the rock formations and the gateway to the sea.

Love the blue tones and how the channel in the rock leads the eye back. The light on the rocks is especially nice.

Not a stunning light show but nice and subtle. I really like the light on the rocks. I bet it would make a nice bw too.

The light has almost a "cold steel" effect. It works well!

Great composition Jimmy! I actually like this one a whole lot more than the knockout sunsets you've posted from here - it lets me focus on the forms of the rocks and the feeling of the twilight beach without being distracted by bright colors.
