Beautiful comp, sharpness. I would have wanted space on the left instead of the right....but that's just a nit. Great work getting the entire body length in the frame and also the nice head angle with catchlight in the eye. :toast:

Good one! The detail is perfect; the lizard is well posed. I like the nice green mosses and the warm tones of the old stump help bring out the subtle colors in the lizard. The soft background is very effective. I look hard to find a suggestion that might improve. Perhaps it would have been nice for a sliver more space near the lower tail. The only way I could see to do that without sacrificing space in front where he is gazing would have been to tilt the camera slightly to have him on a slightly more vertical orientation. All that said, I like this very much! :toast:
Is the name really "Common Lizard" or is this a lizard common to your area?

Guy, I have had a hard time with the few lizards I have had the opportunity to photograph with the comp because of not knowing what to do with the long tail. You make it look simple. Terrific capture! Love the comp, detail and color! I think your framing works perfectly. :toast:

Very sharp subject and beautifully blurred bg. Is it my monitor, or has masking intruded slightly onto the top of the head of the lizard?

Guy, this is a gorgeous photo. Lovely natural colors in soft light, great bokeh, perfectly sharp and well chosen DOF and of course a superb pose of the lizard. I am amazed at the sharpness achieved at this SS. Whenever I am after lizards and the like, I feel a tripod hinders me as these creatures do not often sit still for long when you get close. Excellent job! :toast:

HI Guy,

Besides the beautiful colour, one thing that really sticks out for me in this image is the wonderful curves along the length of the lizard's body. Obviously the detail is great too and the soft background adds a lot to the image as well. But those curves...they're just great!

My only very minor nit is the proximity of the tip of the tail to the left edge of the frame. To me it feels just a tad too tight...but this is a very minor quibble on a very fine photograph...

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...
