Yellow Warbler

I haven't chased around warblers much in the 4 years I have been photographing birds. So, this year I have taken on the challenge. That's what it is and it's pretty addictive really. They truly symbolize spring to me. I know this one is a little busy, but I thought I would float it out there to get some feedback. I did make a mistake with the ISO. It had been cloudy a few minutes before and I had it at 800, but then the sun poked out and this guy suddenly flew so close he made me forget to lower it again. Thanks.

Canon 600mm w/1.4xTC
ISO 800, 1/1250 @f/8, AvMode, Eval Meter -1/3
LR2, lowered exp, curves adj, sharpen

Nice shot. I don't see any problems from the higher ISO. Thanks for sharing.

Wow the yellow really pops here - ISO is fine though I'd like a little more DOF (f/8 usually cuts it but not when using the 600 + 1.4 I guess) but it's a trade off to have the BG blurred like it is. Well Done.

Cute expression adds a lot to the photo. Nice job getting accurate, realistic colors and being able to show the streaking on the breast this well. Too bad his little foot is hidden by the new shoot, minor nit.

Great pose. The color and plumage detail are super. I agree that the high ISO does not seem and issue, if anything maybe stop down a little more for a tad more DOF but that's not a major nit.

This screams "spring" with these wonderful colors. The composition works for me - I don't mind the setting at all.

This little beauty would make me forget about changing my ISO too Bryan. I like this very much all 'round.

Very Nice Bryan. Great light and nice pose.. BG is what it is with warblers.Thats where they hang out.
The yellow warblers always seem to have this cute look about them and you captured that very nicely. They are a challange but can be very addicting and fun!!!

Bryan, Cute little one and nice pose w/ inquisitive look. The 1D Mark III can handle ISO 800 nicely and I would have left it at 800 to keep up my SS as you had it with these small birds.

Bryan, i agree with others that this does scream srping and also with Denise about I would probably have left it at 800 anyway for the shutter speed. I haven't done a lot of photography on these little ones, but the little experience ihave with them, I always noticed they bounce around like little balls. So it probably helped and I see no ill effect from it. Wonderful colors!

Well composed frame and the "busy" factor is really not a problem at all..
Because his little cutie steals the show
And we use the same cam, so we both know ISO 800 is "really not a problem at all".
Well done :toast:
