Canon 7D With EF 500mm F4 1.4 tc
1/1000 sec, F7.1, ISO 400. From Bean Bag

I had to wait this guy out for over an hour. I had seen Luke earlier and we both lamented not seeing much. Well I truly believe seeing luke changed the dynamic. He seems to have this contingent of rare and reclusive birds that follow him! Hope everyone enjoys!

Can't believe I missed this but at least I got a Peregrine while you were shooting this guy

I'd try brightening this up a bit since your ISO is plenty low you should be able to eek some more detail out of the shadows on the face - just watch the whites on the tail.

Very cool, and something I've never seen either. Neat look at the raised foot. Only thing I wish for is more room at the bottom.

I guess Luke's rail luck rubbed off on you, Mike! nice raised foot, great job waiting him out, and nice job with the repost.

I like the elongated horizontal frame, suits his movement right to left and crouched stance. Nice job on the exposure, I like the shadows and low key feel. I checked out Sibley to see where they live, hmmm...mostly along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana, Alabama. Hope he doesn't become more rare. I suspect this is the only place I'll ever see one. :frown:

I like the repost too. I would add just a slight touch of saturation to bring the colors up. These birds are tough! Nice to get one in the open. :toast:
