Hi folks,
I know I don't post here too often. Mainly because I have all I can handle keeping up over at ESS. I have had this image since 2007, and never really was completely satisfied with it. But I have improved my processing skills a litte from all of the help, and suggestions recieved here at NPN. That has resulted in a couple of print sales recently of this image!!! So I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone that has offered some encouraging advice over the last couple of years here. This is from Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, August, 2007. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for any thoughts, and suggestions you can offer. A larger version is also included.

D200,
18-70mm,
Some GND,
1/4sec, F11,
Thanks,
Chris

This is very peaceful, Chris. Love the subtle color palette and soft light. Great composition, too. I like it even better w/ a very slight crop from the bottom that eliminates that little bit of mossy water (or whatever the green stuff is at the bottom right). Really nice work!

Looks good, Chris. Congratulations on your sales - I can see why people would want to fork over cash for it.
The processing is most of the way there, but there are a few small adjustments I'd recommend. There is some haloing going on, most noticeably around the lighthouse, but also around some of the rocks. The base of the lighthouse seems a bit brighter than the top of it, which likely ties into the haloing issue. There's a dust spot in the sky (left side, inch above the horizon). Seeing the clouds a little sharper would also be nice, provided it doesn't make the sky grainy.

Thanks guys,
The comp is what I thought was the best result of a crop to get a specific size. I thought I liked the algae puddle, but can see how others might not.

I would like to know if anyone has any technique for eliminating the halos. I thought I had them gone, but guess not. You know everything looks the same after looking at it too long. I can see them now. I just try dodge and burn passes that end up not looking too good either. Is there a process to get rid of halos without starting over???

Thanks
