I received so many good, learning comments on my last post I thought I'd try another from my Smokeis Workshop with Richard Bernabe. This is a three exposure HDR that I did using the technique Richard described on here. I am not completely happy with it but can't quite figure out what it needs. Any suggestions?

D90, 18-200 f/3.5-5.6 lens at 26mm & f/22, ISO 400, 1/200, 1/50, 1/13 sec exposures. no filters.

I think you did a great job with the HDR, it's not obvious at all that it is a blend. For me the composition is the weaker part of this image, there is a lot of empty sky at the top and the lower right doesn't hold much interest and is a little muddy so my eye tends to always go back to the very left side to the sun.

Beautiful light and beams. I think the HDR looks very nice - I wouldn't have known it was one had you not mentioned it.

I like the image and the light, but there seems an excess of blue sky. Cropping most of it makes for a more interesting pano, IMO.

See what you mean. It's a great shot that somehow doesn't seem to have the overall impact I expect when I look at the individual elements. Maybe try a panoramic style crop, taking it all off the top? Keep the green, the far distance, and the thicker clouds with the crepuscular rays, but lose the light clouds and most of the open sky? That's the the only thing that comes to my mind. Nice shot!

Great HDR, very natural. I agree with Erik about the pano crop, I think it would suit the image very well. Good image!

This is a nice view, Walt. It has nice light and color with the sun rays adding to it. I agree that a crop of the sky to a pano format would be really nice with this image.
