Bonnets and a Blanket
Sony A700
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 400, 1/1600 @ f4

Found this lone Indian Blanket (variety of gailardia) in Llano Countya couple of weeks ago. Had to shoot fast and wide open because of the wind and even then got only a couple of keepers out of 10-15 shots. All comments welcome.>=))>

The bright reds from the Indian Blanket Flower is set off so nicely by the background Blue Lupines  . I am glad you got the whole IB flower in good focus.

Excellent, Bill. It's hard to beat red, green, and blue. Just the right DOF.

With the Indian Blanket being the sharpest, it really pops and dares to be different and stand out in crowd. Very nicely done.

Bill,
I think the wind did you a favor here. It allowed the king of the Texas Bluebonnets to use them in a new way. They make a great OOF backdrop here! Your vertical comp, with the bluebonnets fading into the distance is super.

The Indian Blanket stands out so much it looks superimposed. Great composition and job in nailing that puppy in the wind.
Bill, I swear if we would combine your sunny shots and my drippy shots we would have a beautiful partly cloudy day to work with.

I love the splash of red against blue and green of the BG flowers, Bill. Great choice on the DOF selection also.

Bill:
You make full use of the contrast in this comp - red vs blue/green, sharp vs blur BG. Very well done.

Very nice presentation, Bill. Love the lone blamket against the backdrop of the bonnets. I'm wondering how it would look cropped into a square. Just a thought. I'm hope I'll soon be able to participate again. Life has pulled a few fast ones on me the last 6 months!

Exceptional image Bill. Inspired composition and if the wind forced you to this dof decision, you were well served.
