Veratrum (my take)

Hello guys and girls!

That's my take on the photogenic Veratrum Album. I was out last weekend on short trek just to get my blood pumping and to do a little bit of scouting. On the way back, I stumbled upon a small group of these lovely plants. Didn't have my tripod with me, so this is was handheld at f4 and iso800. I'll return this weekend to do some proper photography if the conditions will allow (I think it was the first time I left my tripod behind. It will never happen again  ).

Thanks for looking. Ok, now off to do some commenting. I'm way behind.

Your take looks good to me - can't wait to see it on a decent monitor when I get home. Really like the comp here, and the beautiful shapes and curves.

This is really smooth and like Mike Horn said "silky" as well. Almost like a soft serve ice cream cone.
Nice conversion and execution. :toast:

Beautiful! Looks good to me, too. Great tones and lines. The thumbnail does it no justice.

Excellent, Dorin. There must be something magic about these plants. There are no bad pictures of them. Every shot is a winner. Even hand-held, they turn out well.

very good dorin. i only wish, as you i'm sure, for absolute sharpness ... the one or two leaves creep towards softness at their ends. so, look forward to seeing the results with the tripod!
