Big Meadows on Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park Virginia

Nikon D80 1/1250 F 5.6 ISO 400 Nikon 70-200 lens

I found this fawn walking through the meadow surrounded by ferns.

Comments and critiques welcome. I learn from each post.

Love the raised leg and the grasses surrounding the deer. Nice light and color as well.

What a pretty fawn. This is perfectly good as posted, but you might be able to enhance it a little by applying some selective brightening (just a touch) to the shadow side of the face and neck.

Love the feel and uniformity of the lush greens around it.

Beautiful pose with that raised leg Andrew. The lush greens contrast nicely with the red fawn. The saturation looks a little bit over done on my calibrated screen though. Or maybe just cooling it down a tad will sort that. The shadows look fine to me btw.

The raised legs adds to the image. Also the colors, the light are superb.

Increase the contrast a bit more and it could take a bit more sharpening. the redness on the coat could also be reduced a bit.

:) None the less a lovely image.

What a cute fella, and the light is just beautiful. I love the curious pose with the leg lifted part way.
