Taken on the same fern as my previous post. Not sure of the species - I am a bit distracted by the OOF green, but would like to get feedback on that.

Nikon D300s 105mm f/2.8 VR micro HH
f/13
1/60s
ISO 250
-1 EC

Cropped to 52%, sharpened, minor heal/clone

I really like the overall feel of the image. The black BG really works for this one. The bit of green on the left is a bit distracting, a crop from both sides would suit my taste. I would consider cutting this down to a square crop :wavey:

The OOF green dosent bother me much here. You could crop some from the left, approx straight down from the 1 on your 2010 date. This would leave some OOF green framing the LL corner of the photo. Also you could crop vertical but that might make the spider too tight on the right side, just some thoughts. Nice job getting the tip of the fern and the spider in focus, tough shot with those long legs.

Looks like a Venusta Orchard Spider Luke, they're very small (about 7mm).
The black BG works well, and the spider is nicely lit.
Would like to see it a bit closer, eliminating that stuff left bottom..A bit too centered this way IMHO.

Nice image Luke and I agree with you on the oof green. I think a little of the left and the bottom would get rid of that. As far as the spider and the tip of the green that is fantastic. Good work. Jack

Luke:
Cool image. I would crop the OOF leaf out. The black BG works well here. :toast:

I like this image a lot Luke. I agree with Mark. I would also try cropping off the OOF green on the left and the lighter colored BG on the right.
