Canon 7D, 500mm f/4 + 1.4x TC, monopod

1/1000, f/6.3, ISO 500

Crop to 59% (10.6 of 18MP)

Another from Montezuma Well National Monument. I thought I got a good pose here. Noise reduction on the bg. Nit-wise there is not a lot of detail in the white supercilium though it's not at 255.

Comments and critiques appreciated. Please view larger version if possible.

It is a nice pose and I think the detail is adequate. Sharon

The small view gives me the feeling that the woodpecker is a bit too contrasty, but the larger view shows more detail and illustrates the lighting in a forest very well. It is an excellent pose and over all fine image.

Excellent sharpness from head to tail and nice pose. The light is contrasty, but I think you handled it about as well as possible.

Brian, perfect angle on the bird to get the best look at the subject without interference from the tree. Nice eye contact too.

Brian,

This is one of those images where the thumbnail doesn't do the image justice, and though the smaller version looks good, the larger version looks even better. I love the way the bird's head is cocked, the light and especially the great look at the bird's eye.
