These are tiny birds with a huge voice. I just love seeing and hearing them. There was another kinglet singing near by. I was lucky enough to get a photo.

Large crop about 75%,(25% remaining)
Thanks for looking. Your thoughts and comments most appreciated.

Dan,

I'd be very pleased with this image, this species moves very quickly and are difficult to track. Lovely light, eye contact, setting, sharpness and details.

very appealing photo as posted

A super shot of a tough little bird to get out in the open and standing still.

Beautiful little bird, love that orange toupee :)
I like the catch light spark and details, hard to believe this is a 75% crop.
Well done :toast:

excellent, Dan. great details, nice setting, and always a treat to see the ruby crown. This works well and holds up to the crop quite well, though I think you could back off the crop a little and still have a great looking shot.

I find it nearly impossible to get direct eye contact with these birds. This is excellent. :toast:

This is just excellent Dan. Lively pose and great detail. The setting is attractive and typical for the species. I see these guys and hear them all the time but don't have a single photo worth showing, hats off for a fine image! :toast:

Fine capture of a lively, very little bird, Dan. The detail looks great to me despite the large crop. I understand that the D90 full frame is 12.3 MP so your original image is only 3 MP. I bet that the sharpness of that 300 mm lens is a major reason for the high quality....not to mention the beautiful level of exposure. :toast:

Wonderful! Someday....I hope to get a shot of a Ruby-crowned with a Ruby crown. They are so delightful to watch and so tough to capture.
