Japanese gardens #3

We went a bit too late for the main Sakura season in Tokyo but it was just the right time for the Shibazakura (lawn sakura) at Hitsujiyama Park near the town of Chichibu, about 1.5 hours by train north of Tokyo. These multicolored phloxes are planted on the hillside in the pattern of the kimono.

D90 iso 100 F22 1/10 tripod. This is the last of the 3 flowering gardens we visited and thanks for the comments on this and previous post 1 and II.

Gary, Very striking  . Love the vast expanse covered by floral design. The hill in the background just fits in great into the composition.

Spectacular view, the mountains and people give this a sense of scale not possible with flowers alone..........top image

Beautiful image Gary. I like the high horizon line leading my eyes through the colorful field of flowers and beyond. The multicolored green tree line complements the flowers and the boldness of the mountain in the BG adds contrast to the delicate softness of the flowers. Well done.

Quite a scene! Definitely like the inclusion of the distant mountain. And I don't see a single poorly behaved child (or adult) running amok through the blooms.

Beautiful image and strong composition for my tastes Gary. The people add a great sense of scale to the scene and the color is beautiful. Short of being there, I think this would be hard to beat.
