This was shot in Katmai NP shortly after a rain shower. The Bear cubs are watching a larger bear walk by.

Canon 20D Canon 70-200 2.8 w/1.4 ex 1/160th @ 4.5 iso 100.

Thanks for looking.
Comments always welcome!

I like the expression you have caught on the two bears. IMHO the light line across the top starting on the left side is a little distracting, I think it could be cropped out. Thanks for sharing.

Intimate. The look of interest in the bears' eyes create interest for the viewer. Great image.

You have a splendid selection of good images from up there, Neil. The details on this one look fine but the lighting is not as exciting as your most recent rim lighted bear! Their mood does indeed seem somewhat tentative. The very minor change I would suggest would be to crop from the top just a sliver, enough to eliminate that bit of sky in the ULC.

You have captured the part-interest, part-wariness expression on the cubs' faces well, Neil, but I, too, am a little disturbed by the little sky in the top left corner.

This is a really cool image. I wouldn't worry about the sliver, it will get covered when you matte this one, Great work! :wavey:

Thanks for the comments everyone!
I thought the bright streak gave scale to the far slope, but... I like it this way as well!

Lon,
Now that I know the work around, there are some more coming. Thanks for the compliments! I'm looking forward to a return trip this Fall. My minds eye is already in hyper drive.

Cheers!

Postcard material to me. Beautiful capture of these delightful cubs. Wow...I have the 70-200mm Canon lens and sir you were pretty darn close to capture these darlings...I would have been tempted to use my 100-400mm lens.
