Here is one from this morning. Great morning light this morning. I had a lot of fun with the Black bellies again. They are really into courtship right now. I like the position of the bird, especially the wings, head turn, and splayed feet. Please view the larger image for the best details. Thanks for looking.

Quite a pose: this fellow looks like he will land on my desk, Ron! Lovely capture. My only nit: looks to me like there is plenty of detail in the feet that would bre better brought out if you lowered the exposure on them. It really is just a nit, though. Very impressive image. :toast:

A fun angle, Ron. Excellent detail and I agree that the light was very nice. It's really cool that you actually got a catchlight in both eyes. :toast:

Neat flight position and composition. Colors look a bit strange - probably the warm morning light.

I agree, Ron, the larger image is definitely worth looking at. The details in the outspread wings, the head angle, and the splayed feet - all spot on! :toast:

Chapeau!! Very nice, I like the composition. Wonder what it would look like if you dropped the exposure one or two steps? I find the background a bit harsh together with the sheen on it's feet.

Not sure about the harsh BG and feet, and the weird color comments. On my calibrated monitor the blue sky and feet are not at all harsh. Maybe my monitor is not accurate for some reason. As far as the strange colors go, this was very warm/rosy, very early light, which does tend to impart a more orangeish/red tone to everything. I thought the lighting was nice showing nice detail under the wings on a bird that can be hard to get good light on. Oh well.

Yes, terrific light combined with good action and unusual perspective of a colorful duck produces a memorable image. :toast:

Ron,
the flight pose with the splayed feet and the watchful gaze to the landing point make this shot for me. Excellent work! :toast:
