Raindrops on Peony

As I frame my images, I try to take the best shot possible without thinking how I can manipulate it via imaging software. Although I have used imaging software to create different effects, I don't want to use it on all my images.

After a short rain this morning, I grabbed my camera and headed to my backyard and captured this single-flowered peony. I love photographing after a rain; everything looks and feels so fresh. And no manipulation with imaging software. So, this is a challenge to myself.

I appreciate your comments and critiques.

My camera is a Nikon D70, no special lens, hand held.

Barbara:
I like shooting after the rain and during light drizzle as well. The rain droplets sure look refreshing here. This is an uncommon take of a flora image which usually focus on the center of the flower rather than the petal.

What Gary said about rain  I like the setting and comp here. The overall impression is little dark, but I don't think it really needs any more light; the main subject is bright enough and the rest is more in the bg anyway. Very pretty and well done!

I must confess that I like PP a bit too much; sometimes I tweak just for the sake of tweaking. You have a completely different approach, and it might be good for me to try the same sometime!
