Along the banks of the Baker River in the North Cascades there is life in almost every square inch that your eyes rest. Most of this celebratory life is shaded in greens. Occasionally another color chimes in with its celebration. In this case it is the Buttercup.

Yes it does look like just poking out of the green haze in the background. Good color contrast.

Beautiful moody capture Tim. The bright subject pops against the darker greenery. Some may coment about the second unfurling bud, but I like it. I can see this image flipped horizontally so that oyur main subject is on the left (we read from left to right) and that second little blossom leads your eye out of the image. It has more potential as a lead out support character than a lead in point. Just MHO. The capture is great. :toast:

Very nice indeed Tim, I really like the way the yellows and greens complement each other. Well done.

Tim, nice detail and color in the open flower to the right. Looks great against those greens. I'm not exactly connecting though with the overall comp. Maybe if there was a bit more room on the left, and if the two buttercups were a tad more diagonal. Just me thinking; take it for what its worth.

Tim: Good plane of focus and DOF management and I like the colors. I'm going to tag on to suggestions by Steve regarding the flip and Philip regarding the placement of the elements in the frame. One thing I love about the 200 is the tripod collar and the ability to spin the lens for more effective composition. I would probably have placed the main flower and bud more in the corners. Play around with that on your upcoming sessions. >=))>
