Island of Trees

Here in South-western British Columbia, the Mountain Pine Beetle has ravaged much of our pine forest. Much of this forest is being logged while the dead wood is still salvageable, and healthy stands remain intact where possible.
This is a 6 shot pano of one such area; an island of trees amidst a large swath of clear-cut is all that remains.

Wonderfully executed shot Timothy. The comp and scope give great power to the situation. It turns a sad situation into art, frankly. What a challenge lining up all the details for a pano, though!

Beautiful powerful image. The curve of the hilltop reflects the curve of the earth which speaks volumes

Wow! An excellent image of what clear cutting looks like. Very powerful image.

Interesting photo and story. I actually prefer the smaller image. Thanks for sharing.
