To Windward

Another image from my sail on the privateer Lynx. This is a shot looking straight up the foremast into the close-hauled rig as we beat windward back to Greenport. I tried several compositions bu tfelt that this one captures the dynamic energy of the rig the best.

Really cool shot . . . a bit borderline as to the whole "nature" thing, but it's quite intriguing anyway. I see a couple of lighter spots about midway along the thingy (don't know the terminology) that points toward the upper RHC.

I like it. It's kind of abstract......makes you think about wind.
I do see the light spots he mentioned, just barely.
Good comp on this; it's really easy to just keep looking at this.

Another very strong image Jim. I like the story telling aspect of your these two images I have seen from this outing. Looks like a very interesting series.

I really like the shapes and tones in the image. There are so many nice details, such as the wrinkles in the sail and the spiral (rope?) on the mast. My first impression from the thumbail was of a mechanical dragonfly. I think it does fit the category, because of the sky and the wind.
