This image was taken a few minutes prior to my previous post from Lake Durant. It is made up of two images tone mapped in PhotoMatrix to bring the large tree out of the shadows.

Nikon D5000, f/16, 18-105 Nikkor @ 28 mm, 1/200 and 1/40 exp, ISO 200, tripod.

Comments appreciated, and thanks for looking.

Beautiful color and light, Greg. That blue, green and orange color is great together. I really like the sun with that light hitting the island or bit of land. I could see croping some from the bottom but I like the reflection and the water color there. Guess I would leave it 50/50 like it is. Either way I really like this.

A very pretty, peaceful scene. There seems to be quite a bit of artifacts in the sky, especially around the tree on the left.

Beautiful shot, Greg. Nice colors/tones, and the sun star is sweet! Looks like there's some kind of flair in the brush below the tree--I'd probably clone that out. Overall, nice work!

Beautiful scene Greg. The tree on the left is a nice balance to the sun on the right. The lake has a nice blue color.

The tree has some signs of hdr and haloing but I like it balancing the sun. I may crop up to off center the horizon and try to even out the blues in the sky.

This is a nicely composed shot and a pleasant one to look at, but the effects of photomatix really detract from the impact. I hope you don't take that the wrong way! I'd try blending by hand and seeing what that looks like.

Gorgeous light and blend. The tree and the sun sure make for some commanding elements.
