The composition and angle on the bird really appeal to me in this image, Douglas. It has a nice feel. :toast:

Douglas,

Lovely capture of one of my favorite birds. I particularly like how you've picked up some of the foreground colors in the background. Well done.

I missed this years passing thru of these beauties. I like how you got the yellow in the back and just made getting some eye contact. Would have been a nicer bird to give you a little more turn :wavey:

Hi Douglas,
The overall image has a nice look with good warm tones. The enlarged view has a good bit of noise which can be easily cleaned up. I assume you were using a 500mm lens with a 1.7x teleconverter. If so, I would expect much more detail in the bird. The image would have also benefited with a little more head turn toward the camera.
Thanks for posting,
Ronnie G.

Nice composition and feel to the shot. Do wish the bird's head was turned toward the camera a bit.

Douglas,

I like the pose and the setting and the light in the bird's eye is lovely too. Agree with Ronnie on the noise in the background, but you should be able to reduce that. I like the waxwing's size in the frame .
