Morning light over the Painted Hills of central Oregon. Of the dozen or so times I've visited the area this was the first time a timed it right for the wildflower bloom. Thanks for looking! Comments welcome.

Beautiful image of the PHs... I really like the flowers in the fg, and the blue skies. They compliment eachother nicely.

This is really nice. First image I can recall seeing from here with profuse wildflowers. The sky is glorious. I think I'd try to tone down the light on the hills.

Beautiful, Tyson. I like how the wildflowers stream towards the golden peak.

Sweet light and contrasting colours. The half cut off flower on the right catches my eye a little.

Way to go Tyson!!! :toast:

I do think the sky at 1/3 of the frame (cropped down a bit) might also fly!

Lovely, Tyson. I've been to the Painted Hills several times, but I've
never witnessed light like this; nor have I ever seen such a beautiful
wildflower bloom. You have great colors here with yellow, golden
orange in the midground, and the varying colors of blue in the sky
really makes this work. Well done.

You sure timed it right. Really pretty image. I might go along with Scott on toning down the hills a little, but looks great as presented.

It is rare to see someone shooting 35mm film. Long live film.

Thank you everyone for your comments! Harley, Scott, I'll have to take a look at the original slide again....I probably could tone down the hill a little, but not too much. The original is very nicely exposed and has some good color. Thanks Mark for the crop suggestion. I played with a crop to the top and right but finally settled on leaving it exactly how I shot it...I decided I couldn't do without those beautiful clouds and intense blue sky.

Cheers!

The dark blue sky on top pulls my eye too much, drawing my attention away from where it should be--those awesome flowers and beautiful painted hill. Lovely colors and comp, perhaps a bit too yellow/green, introducing a little red in curves might be nice to warm it up a touch.

Awesome Tyson. Those wild flowers are beautiful, and this shot with film nonetheless. Very wicked.

Nice colors, my only suggestion would be to crop a little bit of the FG (the rocks just below the flowers) they are just a tad bit uninteresting..

Fortunate timing on a variety of fronts. I like the balance of colors through the photo, and I like the textures in the earth below the flowers.

I love it Tyson. As noted, the blue/yellow contrast is great. I too like the idea of a bit tighter crop, but that's a nit on a great photo.

Great light and colors. For my taste, I would crop some of the lower portion in the image - to the 1st wildflowers - guess it would improve this magnificent shot.

The light on the hills is striking, really gives the eye a clear subject even with the complimentary wildflowers and clouds!
