I was photographing birds with my 400mm lens when I noticed this plane heading toward the moon. I got just one shot and happened to catch the point at which the wing tip just meets the edge of the moon.

Canon 7D with 400/5.6
400mm
f/8.0
1/1600
ISO 500
RAW
Handheld
RAW processing + vignette
Exposure increase
Noise Ninja

Thanks for looking ... C&C welcome!

Wow, this is cool! Great timing. Amazing to see the two subjects combined so effectively.

This is a very interesting image. The only little nit for me is that the noise ninja filter is applied a little heavy. Otherwise very nice :wavey:

Michele,

Great reaction time and shot! Nice sharp lunar details, too. Not bad for handheld. Not bad at all!

Thanks everyone for taking a look.

Mark - I'm still learning to use Noise Ninja ... do you have any tips? Thanks!

Fantastic catch! I would agree that the noise ninja effect looks overly smooth. Without going into the complexities of the program, you can always reduce the opacity of the noise reduction layer or do a fade just after you apply it.

I like it alot. Turned out really nice, especially with only one shot at it.

Fantastic catch indeed. I do agree with the previous comments about noise ninja being applied a bit too much. Great image!

Wow… Handheld @ 400MM?! You are a sharp shooter.

Great capture and subjects, I could see this in a magazine for sure.
