Dewey Bog Laurel...

I went backpacking in the Sandwich Wilderness of NH this weekend...and agonized over whether or not to bring the big macro lens. In the end...I brought it...and am sure glad I did!

I've been hitting a streak of windy days, but this morning, with mist on the water, and dew on the ground...the wind waited a few hours to pick up. It allowed shots stopped down to allow a greater DOF...which this needed!

Beautiful light and subject Jim. Great separation from the bg and the pink and green complement each other extremely well. Add the dewdrops and this is really fine. Beautiful work.

Great take on the Bog Laurel, Jim. Love the Dew and the thumbnail does not do this justice.

The light and dewdrops make this a fantastic capture of this species! I really like that you included those beautiful buds, too.
The right lens, the right weather, the right light, the right background, and the right choices. Don't you love is when everything comes together like this?
