Sage Grouse

Here's another photo from Malheur a few weeks ago. In the past during my time on Sage Grouse leks, my success catching the fly off was non-exsistent, the fly off always caught me by suprise. At last this year I reconized the signs and I managed to make a couple good photos as the grouse left the lek.

Canon 40D, 600mm, ISO 640, F6.3, 1/1000, cropped 20% all around

I appreciate all your comments and suggestions

Gee, when birds fly off for me they invariably give me the tail feathers view. Very crisp, sharp grouse. Impressive wing span, could almost pass for a raptor. I really like everything about this Ken, nice bird in flight/in habitat. :toast:

With that background and light I'd have missed focus on this bird almost for sure - this quite impresses me. Love those reaching wings. Well done Ken!
