A nice looking bird, and a solid image of it. The eye color is very interesting and I like the posture.

That's cool. I have never seen on before this. Great detail on the larger image. Nice.

Cool image, Chuck. I like the light and that neat eye. To me this seems just a bit over sharpened. I've never seen one of these-cool bird. Nice composition too.

Yes, a cool bird I might've stopped down a bit more to increase DOF, but this is really good.

Hi Charles,
Nice subject in good light. The eye really pops out at the viewer. A little halo on the leading edge of the breast maybe from a tad too much sharpening. Curious why ISO-640 with enough light for 1/5000th of a second. I guess I ask because I'm always trying to shoot at the lowest ISO as possible for best image quality.
Thanks for posting,

Chuck:
Love the BG, stance and the vivid eye. I see the thin sharpening halo too.

A solid image of an interesting species Chuck. I like the good detail, pose, interesting perch and of course that eye. I agree that more DOF would have been ideal here to get the tail and more of the perch sharp, esp since you didn't really need 1/5000 sec. Those sharpening halos can largely be avoided by selective sharpening of the bird after very careful masking - not sure if you did that here... Well done.
