Two Northern Flickers

This photo was taken at Audubon State Park in Henderson, KY. I believe these are both males, they actually hung out there for a few minutes. Sadly, my photo editing software is acting up and hasn't been saving the information or data and I don't remember what settings my camera was on at the time.

Hi Andrea,
I wish you would have included the camera and lens. Nice to get both birds in the frame but not sure the bird in the shadows adds that much to the image. Alot going on in the background but I think there is enough blur to not be overly distracting. The warm lighting is nice which is always easier on the eyes.
Thanks for posting,
Ronnie G.

Nice to catch both, although I agree with Ronnie that since the top bird is in the shade, he doesn't really add a lot to the shot. Very cool pose on the bottom bird.

Oh I completely forgot the camera and lens, those I do know. My camera is a Sony A100 and I believe I was using my Sigma 70-300mm Macro/Normal lens, I only have two at the moment but I'm sure it was that one. As for the setting I'm not so sure, yes the top bird is a little too much in the shadows, but each time I moved a little to the right, they moved more to the back of the tree, lol.

Good shot Andrea. I believe I ran into you at the Eagles Watch weekend at Lake Monroe this winter. I agree that the shot of the two is nice, but the pose of the one in the light is so good that I'd be tempted to crop the other one out and just stick with him.

I did attempt to crop him, and found that it was quite clear and sharp as I would've LOVED for it to have been, but I do have a few other photos I could work on a little that would be worth posting on here.
