Great image quality considering the ISO...great sharpness considering the extender and slow shutter speed....great pose of a species that isn't easy to come by. :toast:

Hi Lil' Buddy,
Nice of him to give that head turn. I like that foot wrapped around the grass. Not all that often these little guys come out in the open. I saw one last week at the rookery but he was at the far end of the pond.

Very nice - a classic look at this secretive species. I wish I could get this quality at such a high ISO.

Very sharp and I like the way the bird is coming through the reeds.

Congratulations David, this has got to be the, or one the best least bittern images I've seen. Besides the excellent comp. I really like the eye and beak detail, feet around the reeds, feather detail and habitat. An excellent capture of a very elusive bird... Well done!

Great to see this bird in this habitat but much more out in the open than I was used to seeing them. Colors look wonderful on my screen, love the pose and the great look at the eye & bill.
