I love this time of year in our garden. Most of our flowers and plants are on the northeast side of the house and the angle of the sun as it rises could not be better. Plus there are trees far enough away to diffuse the light but not so close as to cast strong shadows. Plus there is usually some morning haze that softens and warms the light even more. Plus the sun rises early enough that I can shoot for an hour or so before having to get ready for work. Plus the wind is usually pretty calm. Plus we have day lilies, asiatics, canas, callas, hibiscus, verbena, and coneflowers coming into full bloom. You get the picture - a veritable paradise for a flora shooter. But one of my absolute favorite subjects is milkweed pods and seeds and when I saw the light glistening off these little wisps I had to take advantage of the calm conditions. I practically filled up a 4GB card yesterday morning shooting these and other delights. Lots more to come. All comments welcome.>=))>

Pat: I get the DIA reference. Cool observation. . . Bill
Beautifully captured with excellent details and wonderful light
I like the light on the 'whispies' too. Nice DOF and isolation of the pod.
