Aspen Stand

I was out on a quadding trip a couple of weeks ago with some friends and was amazed at the beauty of the Aspen forest that we were travelling thru. The group wanted to stop for a break so I jumped back on my quad and back tracked a couple of miles to try and capture some of the areas that we had been travelling thru. I only hope I've done the forest justice with some of these images.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and take a look.

As always your thoughts and comments are welcome and appreciated.

I like the overall composition, and the details in the foreground trees, but for me the foreground doesn't stand out enough from the background. I'm no expert, but I wonder how it would look if you brought down the exposure and added some fill light.

Very nice, I like the separation between the trees and the general tone of the photo.

The detail in the forest is striking and I like it! The light and processing really brings out the depth of the forest. The lack of trees in the bottom left catches my eye because this photo for me is all about the trees and forest.

Lots of textures going on here, it sure does look like a beautiful forest to explore. The lower left is a little empty compared to the rest of the scene, which throws the balance of a bit for me.

The details is really good here. Gonna sound weird, but there's a sense that there might be a zebra hiding in here somewhere.

Thanks for the comments all. I have 4 or 5 in this series one of which I have posted with this response. What caught my attention with the original post was the alignment of the 3 closest trees on the right and how they seemed to draw a plane down to the back left corner. There are trees all around as you see in this new image. Thanks again i do appreciate all of your comments.

I like the original post more. I like the line from lower right to upperleft and the lower left corner open space doesn't bother me. All those tree trunks make for some interesting study, I just get lost in them. (in a good way)
