Captured this guy last summer in a nearby pond. Have only seen another pair since, this year but they were too far to get a good shot.

The stilt has a real innocent look on its face... nice capture with the piece of vegetation in the bill

Very nice shot! I like the shore line break! Your exposure made the most out of the blacks and whites.

I like this as posted. The wet sand lots almost like thin ice.

Very nice work Cheryl. I really like the soreline on this one. It has a cloudy, windy feel to it for me...not sure that was the day or not, it for some reason, that is how I feel looking at it. I can almost hear the shorebirds. nice work

Sometimes Stilts and Avocets (mostly winter for the Avocets) show up at the Dunedin Causeway that goes to Honeymoon Island, you may want to check that out some time, so I thought I would mention it. Also; this time of the year the Stilts can be found in wetland areas in FL as they seem to prefer fresh water for nesting. The chicks are simply adorable. Mayakka SF is another place to find them in abundance this time of the year.
I love the silvery tones of the water and sand, the pose of the stilt and how you were able to get the glint of red in the bird's eye, that isn't always easy to capture.

I can only ditto the others; lovely work. I like the streamer of algae trailing from the bill, too.

Sweet image, Cheryl. The string or whatever in the beak and the extremely sharp eye really make this one for me. BTW, I like your new logo style.

Cheryl,
I love the expression of this stilt, the veg moved by the wind in the beak and the lines that the water draws. Beautiful shot!
