This was taken a few days ago at Phantom Lake in Yellowstone. This boar had just cooled off in what little water there was and was chowing down.

F 8
ISO 800
FL 400

Thanks for looking at my picture and for any comment.

Interesting photo. I like the grass in the bears' mouth. IMHO if the bears head was just a bit higher it might be a better shot. Thanks for sharing.

He gave you a good clean background and active pose! I like the head-on look, the eye detail and the wet fur. Given the bright grass behind him and his black-with-wet highlights, and if this is shot in raw, I think you might try starting with minimum contrast and then adding it selectively, which should help preserve detail on the shadow side. A lower angle would have been great, but the situation might not have allowed it!

This looks great to me, Jack. Great coat on the bear and nice detail; wonderful to see him in good shape.

Quite an intimidating view, Jack! Something I certainly never have come across. I also might suggest the darkening the grass behind. Nicely done!

The grass in the mouth is a nice bonus. Lighting looks harsh, but the exposure seems right on my laptop (uncalibrated). I agree that a lower angle would have resulted in a better image, but that might not have been possible. Thanks for sharing.
