Gunnison National Forest, Colorado
Shot last fall and revisited last week. Not as special as Aspen Affection , but you can't win them all :)
Canon 5Dmk2/70-200mm at around 150mm.

I love those skeletal tree trunks. Nicely composed, too, with the little saplings nestling in the shadow of the more mature trees.

Love these luminous trunks, I really like both of these shots, can't say I prefer one over the other. I like this wide view with more depth through the forest. Nice work.

Indeed one can't win them all, but this is really an interesting and strong image and it offers a different view on the subject. The strong contrast works very well.

I like the ghostly feel you have created in this forest scene Jimmy.

I like this better Jimmy. A lot more to look at and the phase lost souls comes to mind. It does have a more ghostly mood but maybe that is why I like it more. Also love the complex graphics here.

great b&w comp! love the contrats here and the dark mood of the conversion, the mistic shapes of the trees too. I like both images and find each one very strong. great work!!

Love the composition Jimmy and your use of tones in the trees against the dark canvas. The trees have a wonderful glow. Actually prefer this image over the previous aspen image you refer to.

You really kill these Aspens shots. Do you have a book on the beauty of Aspens?
Great job Jimmy

Jimmy,
Or how about "Circle of Life," or "Circle of Friends," or "Let's Gather 'round." No matter the title, the image speaks all for itself. this is wonderful! Great find and even better capture and interpretation and processing. Well done! I love this (almost as much as the Aspen Affection...)

I really like the way you're doing the B&W conversions with aspens. Very interesting approach. Love the lines here as well.

Cool moody image, JG. A totally different look and feel from the other post, so no need to compare the two.

Wow, really well done. Almost spooky in it's darkness, but elegant like Ansel Adams. Awesome composition and beautifully processed.
