C&C appreciated. See LARGER VERSION for best detail

LOVE the FG detail and water motion. I think the blues below the horizon are a little strong though. If everything goes according to plan I'll in Kaua'i in September -- can't wait!

Doug,

The large version "rocks!" (sorry for the bad pun.) In the smaller version I would have suggested trying the bring out some detail in the LRC, but the larger version looks great. The last bit of light striking the wet rocks is just beautiful.

I don't know if I'd call this a nit, but for some reason I'm wishing the horizon line was sharper. I don't know why that struck me, it's not even a big deal and hardly worth mentioning... but it just crossed my feeble mind.

I personally like the effect of the silky water from the long exposures and I think it works wonderfully in your image. Well done.

I had the same reaction as Lon. I really didn't expect to see that much more in the shadow detail in the larger version, but its there. The comp helps guide the eye through in a backwards Z and brings all these details to the viewer's attention. Nicely done.

That's some serious blue Doug. I really like the reflection coming off the shore rocks which brings it to life. The moss adds some nice color also to the image. Great shot.

I've really been liking all these dark, moody images posted lately. I agree some of the blues might seem a tad over saturated, but I'm OK with it. Purist I'm not. Nicely done.

Love the light on the rocks, and that nice cyan in the water. Really great work!

You nailed this one, Doug! Comp, light, and texture all look spot on to me.

I'm surprised this isn't getting more feedback. I like the cmp quite a bit. It is kind of basic, but I love the cobble sized boulders all over the foreground. What I really enjoy the most is the beautiful light! I notice the cyans again too. But this is evidengt in all of the previous similar images too. I don't think it looks bad at all, just something that I notice. But I am looking at a Galen Rowell image from the islands, and it has almost identical tonality as this.

I like it a lot!
