Captured this beauty while hiking a trail along the Skagit River in the North Cascades near my home.
This was taken in the wild. Though it looks to be it is not a studio shot. Worked with the light as presented.

SONY a900
Minolta 200mm F4 macro
CP
Remote release for 2" delay to lock mirror
ISO 800 (windy)
F18 @ 1/30"

C&C most welcomed!

Gorgeous Tim, love the color and detail, and the dark BG really makes it stand out. Just beautiful.

Very well seen and captured Tim. Really like the flat plane of the bloom . Wonderful light on it. Well done.

Beautiful shot Tim. Great color, detail, light, and DOF. I kinda wish the FG green stem/vine wasn't there, but that's just me nit picking. I do very much like natural shots and all the challenges they bring. On that note, very well done.
