Sedona: A Clearing Storm
by Gabriel Colburn
This will be my first post so I figured a brief introduction is in order. I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado and love landscape photography and climbing. Presently photography is merely a hobby, but eventually perhaps that will change. I've enjoyed surfing this site for about a year now and figured its about time I get a membership and get involved, so here's my first post.
This photo was taken in Sedona, Arizona at the end of December 2009 just after a snow storm. I spent several hours with my camera setup waiting for the dense fog to reveal the cliffs. Eventually the fog began to lift and was rapidly blowing through creating beams of light that shifted around dynamically lighting different parts of the scene. It was quite a spectacular light show! This photo is part of a series of photos from this event. The rest of which were taken with my DSLR since I didn't have much film loaded.
I'd appreciate any comments and critique!
Also, if there's any tips I should know about resizing photos for posting I'd appreciate that as well. Thanks!

10 commentsWelcome to NPN and the ES&S Gallery! What a magnificent choice for your first post. A fresh dusting of snow in Sedona is always special - actually special in just about any place in the desert SW. The clouds, clearing storm and the perfect blue sky above just makes for a beautiful landscape. Oh, and the semi-pano format is quite fitting as well.
We look forward to seeing more images and also encourage your participation. Don't be shy and jump right in.
