Egrets and Herons are probably the most amusing to watch preen - and when you have light like this it makes them look quite elegant. Great light on the eye and DOF to give a solid anchor

Nice image, Ronnie. I love how you captured it at just the right time to have the sun shining down on its face/eye.

Your images have an almost mystical quality to them, and this is no exception. I love the light here, the pose, and the intimate natural composition.

Absolutely beautifuls colors and exposure Ronnie. I am reminded everytime I see one of your posts that I simply need to practice more......and, "it's less about the subject and more about the light." Superb Ronnie!!!

This is a wonderful image. I really like the way the light strip crosses the egret's eyes and beak. It brings added attention to the most important area of the photo. Everything about this photograph accentuates the subject. Looked at your website and enjoyed it very much. You are an extremely creative and talented photographer. I've also pondered you ending comment about composition & light. I'm much too wrapped up in the subject.

Sweet light, perfect techs and interesting capture. I'm not usually crazy about preening shots - the bird is usually not very attractive- but you've got a fine photo here.

Wonderful details and composition. The colors are nice a saturated without being over done. The light here is fantastic.
It looks to me like it's about to say, hey buddy, wanna buy a watch?

The dark spot in the ULHC, just above the birds wing, is that sensor dust or part of the background?

Very well done. :toast: :toast:

Lovely pose and the brighter light around face and bill is most effective.

Hey BB,,,,,,you have got to love that late, low angled light. The alternating layers of light and dark across the frame add a lot of interest to the pose and it's technically excellent, as usual.

Ronnie,

Masterful use of light in this photo and the pose is very interesting. Lovely sharpness, details and colors. I also love how the egret is just doing what birds do. A fine image and one I'd like to have in my portfolio.
