Went out in the rain and hiked the slopes of a mountain that will be plastered in wildflowers in a few weeks (still snow up there now). I did find a patch of these little beauties.
C&C most welcomed!

Minolta 200mm F4 macro
CP
Kirk focusing rail
Gitzo tripod
ISO 800 (windy)
F20 @ 1/30"

Beautiful bloom, Tim. Would be nice if it is more isolated from the BG. The flower looks sharp at 1/30 for windy condition; maybe you could have got away with lower iso (but no sign of noise here though), larger aperture and faster SS. Just my 2 cent.

Tim: Makes me want to go there!!!!! I kind of wish the OOF FG leaf/grass wasn't there but so it goes. The rest of the BG works well for me. >=))>

Nice contrast of the red with the green BG Timothy. I think I would like this with a bit more DOF to soften the BG a bit.

Great find Tim. The lighting is perfect. Like others would prefer to have the BG more out of focus.

Thanks for all the C&C. I was intriqued with the look of the wet leaves when I saw the shot. I'm thinking, now, that I should start shooting at several F stops for the same composition. I'm afraid that I find the old film conservatism hard to shake..........AND THERE IS NO REASON FOR IT! tHANKS AGAIN EVERYONE.
