Rose Pogonia Orchid

I've been after this species of wild orchid for a few years, but the inaccessibility of its habitat has had me missing it the past few years. This year, I traveled with a local expert into a small sphagnum bog mat, and found a great colony on a misty morning...

Depth of field versus shutter speed was a factor, as bog sink was an issue with the tripod. This is the best I can do, and had to reduce noise on the background rather significantly.

Thoughts and comments appreciated...

Georgous photo Jim.
I like how sharp the blossom is and the steam and leaf are OOF, but they still contribute to the overall image. I can notice some posterization in the background, however had you not mentioned it, I'm not sure I would have.

Very fine image Jim. I like the color palette and the droplets in particular although I also like the composition.

Great find Jim. I hope to see one of these in the wild some day. Very well captured considering the shooting conditions. Nice color and comp.
