One from a couple of years ago that I recently reworked. I barely squeezed it into the frame, so I added some sky all around.

Terrific sharpness and feather detail, and nice soft light. Way to go.
Spoonbills are a favorite subject of mine, but when they fly this close I usually manage to get some part of them out of the frame. Were you hand-holding that 500?

Very nice flight shot. I like the fact that the background for the head of the spoonbill is all wing and not part wing and part sky. Larger version sure shows off the sharpness. Nice capture.

Glad you dug this one up. Super image all around. Great wing position, excellent dof and terrific sharpness - the eye just stands out. Your added canvas worked very well with the composition.
Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback.
Buck,,,,this was panning on a tripod with gimbal head. I usually end up cutting something off when they are in this tight but I got lucky on this one.

Excellent sharp details and colors look spot on. I do wish the bill was not merging w/ the wing but it stands out well. You did a very nice job w/ the detail on the underside of bird.

Love the detail and especially the position of the wings....I see Denise's point, but personally think the wing position more than makes up for the wing intersecting with the bill. The colors are also superb. nice work David!

beautiful, David. love the colors and detail, wing position is great, and the wing/bill overlap does not bother me. excellent comp with the added canvas--congrats on keeping this one in the frame!
