Driftwood in light surf

This beach is eroding and is taking the buttonwoods and exposing old snags. Whenever I had been there recently, the tide was low and the water did not reach the snags. On this day there was a high tide at dawn so I could finally try to get the picture I wanted. The local government plans a beach nourishment project here and then the snags and driftwood will be gone.

Canon 1DMkIII, 17-40 at 27mm
ISO 50, f11, 30 seconds,
Evaluative metering, Av + 2 stops
Dodged LLC, moderate increase in saturation

Buck: I really like this image. The long exposure created a surreal feeling. The soft pastel colors work great.

I usually dont like long water exposures, but i think it works for this more abstract subject. The pastel pinks are terrific. The snags arent the most aesthetically pleasing subject, but overall ithink this is an interesting shot, and nicely presented.

Tranquil and just a bit eerie, I love the combination. Color overall is just delicious! The long exposure really has me imagining and envisioning. Thanks for sharing!

The long exposure works so well with the subject and colors, as does the centered composition around the driftwood.
