Juvenile Burrowing Owls
Athene cunicularia

I had almost forgotten about this series of images but this week's challenge reminded me of these young burrowing owls so I worked it up.

D200, f8, 1/200, ISO 320, 200-400mm VR with matching 1.4x TC at 400mm, natural light, not baited. 82% of original image, sharpening for web presentation.

As always, I sincerely appreciate your thoughful comments and critiques. Thank you for looking.

Hi Mia,

Its a good thing this was the weekly challenge so that you remembered this delightful image. I like the three different expressions. Open eyed, a bit of a squint and then just the one eye. The one to our right looks as if he is wondering just what the middle one plans to do with that rasied foot.

Sweet image, techs good as always.

Very nice! The variety is quite interesting: poses, position, height, etc.
