Fireworks @ the beach

Went down to the beach tonight for some fireworks and took my camera just in case.... no tripod so I put it in the sand (on a towel) and just pressed the shutter (forgot cable release, whoops!). I'm quite happy with the results and this is one of the few that show off some of the sky and FG

Nikon D300s 18-200mm VR @ 18mm
f/13
4 seconds
ISO 320

Cropped to 65%

Luke:
Fine comp. The scanty clouds and slight glow of the sky provides a good backdrop. Well done. I sometimes use the delay shutter function when I forget the cable or couldn't be bothered attaching one on.

Stunning. Your improvisational ingenuity paid off handsomely. :toast:

nice improv, Luke. I like this very much, and think the dark foreground adds an extra bit of interest.
