Flicker Portrait

Canon 7D, 500mm + 1.4x TC, monopod.

1/1000, f/5.6, ISO 500

Crop to 76% (13.7 of 18MP)

Here's a flicker who came in very close as I sat under my camo cloth. I couldn't fit the whole bird in the frame so I opted for a portrait. The paler portion of the bg is a tree trunk, and has not been altered.

Comments and critiques are appreciated. Please view larger version if possible.

Excellent detail Brian. I especially like the very gradual gradation of light on the flicker from the head down.

Looks like he is giving you the 'look over' to see what you are doing. Good detail around the head for being in the shadows and I like the eye contact, well done.
