Another of my orange lilies. I took this yesterday after purchasing a Hoodman Loupe. I wanted to give it a try playing with shallow dof and with selective focusing points. Had fun and liked the results.

Kathy - SWEET! Only littl littl ltittl nit - uppermost stamen almost clipped! Not sure if you cropped post capture, but if you did, do you have a sqoosh more image at the top? Looks like you are making friends with your Hoodman fast! :toast:

Really like your choice for focal point on this. I agree about the clipped stamen and if you have it to add back in, think it would send this over the top!

Beautiful work Kathy, very nice color and presentation, and I especially like your focal point. Very well done.

Kathy: "Coming at you!" was my first impression. Really high impact comp and a terrific DOF/POF choice. Most excellent.>=))>

Great comp Kathy. Love the ring of equidistant anthers around the style and stigma. Beautiful color and an excellent dof decision as well.

The repost does look better with the added room, but the color in this one is fabulous. Flame on!

This image is on fire Kathy! The color alone will make people stop and look. While it doesn't appear clipped the uppermost stamen is very tight to the frame edge. A tad more room perhaps?

And I too like the result, very much, Kathy. I love specially the warm color of the clean bokeh and the geometry of the stamens, that gives order to the composition. Excellent.
Cheers.

Great work with a difficult (for me at least) flower to photograph well.
